It's Bloomin' Tuesday!

Welcome!I finally had a couple blooms to show this week but......this is what we woke up to this morning!
I'm sure these would have bloomed today if the temp had gotten out of the 30s.
I did get to see this one lonely bloom yesterday. It came up alone on the opposite side of the house from the ones I have planted.
These poor miniature daffodils I planted last year are so close to the ground they were covered.

It's supposed to be back in the 50s tomorrow so maybe I'll have something next week!
Thanks for stopping by! Sign up and show us what's bloomin' where you are planted this spring. Just add your name and permalink to Mr Linky and put a link to this post on your post. I can't wait to see what spring is like where you are!

Spring Planting

First we reread our book about planting. We got out our tools and garden gloves.
Put dirt from the pail into the pots
Jerzie said this was hard work.
She put a seed in each pot. The ones with the orange spot are hers.
More dirt on top.
Just a little on each one.
Sorry for the glare. Her pots have 'Kid Stuff" sunflower seeds. They only grow about 32 inches tall.
Water each pot with her watering can.
Watching them grow!
She will become a gardener!
Go here to see her fishing with Daddy.

Show and Tell

When I was cleaning out my storage room I found this mosaic I made in high school back in the late 60s. I made it in a basic art class where we tried all kinds of different mediums.
I never made another one but have enjoyed seeing all the items that are being made as mosaics today and may give it another try. I love the items made from pieces of china.
I'm not sure why I still have it but I guess I'll put it back where I found if for now.

Light 'n up!

When I redid my living and dining rooms several years ago I sold the old metal ceiling lights to an antique dealer. I removed the one in my entry too because it matched the others. Since then I have had this generic light. I've always had my eye out for something better and I found it at a liquidation store on Tuesday. This beautiful pendant stained glass fixture just jumped right out at me.
I couldn't wait to get home and put it up! I have no patience when I get something new. I didn't have supper until 7 o'clock because I had to hang the light first.
The hardest part was finding the right color paint in my unmarked paint stash. (Note to self: Mark what room you used the paint in before storing it!)
The other light was much larger and the room had been painted since I bought it.
I absolutely love this light! It is perfect in every way. The color is perfect, I could hang it at the right level so the door didn't hit it, the size is just right for this small area and the brown finish matches my other fixtures. On top of all that it was less than $30.!

It's Bloomin' Tuesday!

Welcome!
I don't have anything blooming yet but at least I can see some green in the gardens. I have cleaned up about half of the garden areas. We have had lots of sunshine but the temps are still low even during the day. So here are my spots of green (or growth) this week.
This bright red growth is the yellow loosestrife just beginning to come up.
Bachelor buttons, fuzzy, bluish green leaves.
Bright green iris, standing at attention.
The lacy, yellow green feverfew.
Money plant will have flowers soon that look like white phlox.
Very invasive ground cover, sedum. Now's a great time to get rid of some.
Beautiful burgundy leaves of the yellow evening primroses. They turn this color in the fall.
A good clump of daffodils.
Leaf buds on my peony tree. It didn't bloom last year so I'm hoping for a bloom or two this year.
Tulip leaves with a hint of red.
Miniature daffodils with some nice plump buds.
I am excited to see what is really bloomin' in your garden already this spring. Just add your name and permalink to Mr Linky and add a link to this post on your blog. Happy Spring!

Photo Challenge!

Since Jerzie isn't with me today (I have a major dental appointment) I decided this was a good day to try something new. I've been thinking about entering one of my pictures of Jerzie in this photo challenge at iHeartFaces for awhile. It just happened that the category today was 'no flash' and I had taken outside pics last week. The winner is picked by a Guest Photographer Judge. Here is my entry.

I picked this picture because I love the look on her face as she studies the milkweed seeds. You can tell by her furrowed brow that she finds it very interesting. There is a contest every week for a picture of an adult, a child and sometimes a pet. Why don't you visit here and give it a try!
