I've been working on my mystery project all weekend but it's finally finished! First I made a box with the wood I got from my cousin.
Then I stained the inside and painted the outside.
Next I cut old tongue and groove wainscoting, also from my cousin's barn, and covered the bottom inside of the box.
Then I called my favorite son-in-law. I also put a small light inside the box and put wainscoting on the inside top.
I held the box while Chris screwed it to the house. Laurie did what she does best, took pictures and told us if everything was straight.
Chris secured it to the house real good. Are you confused yet?
Then we attached one of the windows that I got at the auction with hinges. I had sanded it a little, stained it to tone down the white and caulked the glass panes.
Chris is adjusting the window.
I couldn't get a good picture thru the window because of the glare so I opened it up so you can see what's inside for now.
I LOVE it!
I can't take the credit for the idea tho. I saw it on Nature Girl's blog last August. I told her then I might steal her idea. It will be so much fun to change it up for the holidays and seasons.
I went out as it was getting dark and got a pretty good picture. The light is not too bright and I'm really happy with it.

What a great idea! I love doing things for each season, this is a great idea, thanks for sharing.
The money plant and Chinese lanterns are beautiful, nice for a fall dried flower arrangement.
