Do you see the bee inside the bud on the top left?
So full of pollen it could hardly fly.Even it's wings were full but not giving up!
To see more Show and Tell posts go over to Kelli's House.

Mystery.....

I had very tiny ants in my kitchen for the first time this year. Because they share a wall I also saw a few in the bathroom. I put some ant traps in both rooms. One in the bathroom was between my pedestal sink and waste basket. A couple mornings I found the trap in the middle of the floor. One night I kicked it when I got up to use the bathroom. I knew my ants weren't big enough to move that trap so I had to figure out what was going on.
....Solved!
Seems this mouse was using the ant trap for a toy! Do you see that tail sticking out of the mouse trap?Did you know they have finally really built a better mouse trap?
If you care, I highly recommend this trap. Just put a little peanut butter in the cup and set the trap by using a lever on the outside. All you see is the tail! Open the end, press the lever and the critter is gone.
I set the trap again to see if a couple mice were using the ant trap for a hockey puck!

6 things

Sweetie tagged me for a 6 things meme. I did this awhile ago but I figured there must be 6 more things I could tell you.

1. My Dad and my brother had polio in the last epidemic in the area, in 1953. My Dad was in an iron lung in one hospital and my brother was in another hospital. My Dad died and my brother has been on crutches ever since. He was 6 and I was 4.

2. I used to teach decorative painting and sweatshirt painting classes in my home. I had to give it up when I got a second job. I don't paint much anymore and do miss it now and then.

3. I was a Girl Scout until I finished school and got the highest award for scouts at the time. I also had troops of my own and helped with others. I led the Brownie troop my daughter was in during grade school.

4. I had braids until I went into the 7th grade then my Mom cut them off. Can you imagine a Mom controlling a child's hair at that age today?

5. I am very nervous around water. I love the beach but don't spend time in the water. I get especially nervous when there is a drop off to the water. When we went to the pier my kids knew they had to walk down the middle.

6.Some of our relatives did a genealogy and discovered that my maternal Grandfather's family came to this country in 1637. We are also related to royalty in England. I have all the papers but never bothered to read them before. I think this will be a good read for the winter months.

It's Bloomin' Tuesday!

I'm starting to get a little more color in the daylily bed. I don't have a big variety but they have been putting on quite a show this year.

I have a couple different shades of yellow.

The bottom picture is a truer color and these are a much smaller lily.

I love the peach colors.

The top picture is the closer color.
I got one calla lily in the pot on my deck and I'm happy with that. It hasn't bloomed for the last couple years for some reason. I'm going to dig it up this fall and see if the 1 bulb I planted had multiplied. If you would like to show us what's bloomin' where you are planted just add your name and blog address to Mr Linky and add a link to this post on your blog. Remember, you don't have to grow it to show it! Everyone is welcome!

Go and enjoy the country wide garden tour right from your computer chair!

Chasing Rainbows

Because of these hanging in my windows, in the morning I have little rainbows around the dining room. Jerzie just discovered them this morning.

She loved the one on the wall and wondered how it went away and then came back when she moved.

How did it get on my hand?
It sure doesn't take much to entertain a curious 2 year old!

Jerzie would like me to share two of her favorite things to do on the computer. I'm sure you all know by now that she loves doggies. If you go here you can help feed hungry doggies some Kibble.
This site is really fun! Just write a command and a real dog will follow it. We could do this for hours!

Audubon Garden Tour Lilies

We saw literally hundreds of all types and colors of lilies on the garden tour.
One garden we visited was a lily farm and we were told it took 7 hours a day to deadhead the lilies.
They had over 700 lilies and perennials. The lilies were all marked but it was impossible to keep track of the names.
I only took a few lily pictures.

It seems our weather here this year has been perfect for lilies.
