Perfect Find!

I was just thinking this week that I needed something to keep my bird seed in.
I walked into a basement at an estate sale and look what I saw.

The perfect bird seed container and only 6.50!
Love it!

Out with the old...

and in with the new!
I'm not a real fan of accordion doors but that's all that will work at the top of the stairs to my basement. I've repaired the one I had several times and it just couldn't be fixed again. I went to Lowe's and bought a new one today and came home and installed it. I'm sorry I put up with the old one for so long! I like the white much better than the fake maple one.

Welcome Spring!

I wanted something other than a wreath for my front door for spring. I found this cool rusty watering can on sale at Joann's.
I filled it with a couple spring flower bunches, also on sale.

My door has a closer on top so I need to wire any decor item to the top of the door.

I used some Velcro, stuck to the glass and the can to keep it from banging the window.

I'm very happy with the results! I can use the watering can over and over. It has a plastic liner so it can be used as a vase.
Happy Spring!

What the Heck?

Do you have one of these? It's one of those items you never knew you needed until you got one. I got mine in my Christmas stocking. Any guesses?

It's a banana clip! No, not one of those things you put in your hair in the 80s!
Just clip it on to the cut end of a banana to help keep it fresh!

Now do you need one?

Great Surprise!

Becca of Becca's Dirt sent me a nice surprise all the way from Alabama!
I've made so many great friends in blogland and I appreciate every one.
Because of my recent Lucy posts, Becca sent this great tin Vitameatavegamin sign.
If you missed the posts just click on 'I Love Lucy' on my side bar.
Thanks, Becca! I love it!

Spring??

We've had a couple days of rain so the snow is slowly melting.
I can even see the edges of some of my garden areas and some grass!

The snow piles are only about knee high...

and as of yesterday, the ice is melted off my brick street.

I decided to celebrate by showing some summer pics from my gardens...
before we get the 6 inches of snow they are calling for tonight and tomorrow!!

Spring can't come too soon for me!

I've Never Seen One...

I remember hearing about dance programs where men signed up to dance with the ladies for certain dances but have never seen one. I was sooo excited when I found 3 at a household sale!
All 3 are from the Jamestown area and are in the 1800s('99,'96,'93).

They are in awesome condition and one still has the pencil attached that came with it.

The dances are all put on by the Knights of Pythias This one was on Thanksgiving night.

The first column is the type of dance and the second, the name of the song being played, with room in between for the men's names.
Most names seem to be written by the gentleman.

The back of each one had the committee members that helped at the dance listed.
Have you seen one of these before?
These will be listed in my Etsy Shop soon.
