It's Bloomin' Tuesday!

Welcome to Bloomin' Tuesday! I just had to show you the tulips that the bunny ate. They wouldn't give up! The one on the left was untouched and you can see just a bit of yellow left on the right. The 2 together look beautiful even after having their tops bitten off!
My Heartleaf Bergenia is in full bloom. I like plants with interesting leaves to add color even when the blooms are gone. This plant certainly fills the bill. The burgundy and green leathery leaves stay green all year.
The Barrenwort is also blooming. I love this delicate looking plant but have never found any others, maybe this year. Because the blooms are above the leaves they are sometimes called 'dancing faeries'. Look closely at the leaves and you can see they are bordered in burgundy.
They look like a miniature columbine to me.
The neighbors dark purple lilac is beginning to bloom. It's a very old tree that I trimmed for years. I'm afraid it won't last much longer since it is never taken care of now.
I just got a white bleeding heart last year for my expanded shade garden. I'm excited to see a few delicate blooms.
The Burgandy Glow Ajuga is certainly standing tall. This clump is in the shade garden also. It grows just about everywhere and spreads continually. I don't really care about the blooms but like it for a ground cover.
Another new shade plant is the Foamflower, Tiarella. This is another plant I would like more of. According to my books there are several varieties with interesting leaves. It grows well with only partial shade.
Such a delicate looking bloom that stands tall.
After being quite dry still for spring, we had a great rain yesterday. The grass is green and the plants are filling in nicely. I'm looking forward to seeing your spring 'bloomers'! To join the tour just add your name and permalink to Mr Linky below and add a link to this post on your blog. I try to have my post up before 10 on Monday night for your convenience. I'm ready to sit back with a glass of ice tea and stroll around your gardens.

I have some of these same things blooming in my yard. I'll have to take picture for next week of them. This week I have shots from my visit to California.

Still waiting on my white blooming Bleeding Heart to push out flowers. I planted a Bergenia last year and never got any blooms. Yours is very pretty!

Jean, I just love this blossom hopping! Bergenia is one of my favorites. I bought a large plant last year and divided it up and I fear it may take years to grow and bloom.Love the Foamflower. Bet that would look great with my silver Lamb's ears or Stachys. I will look for it at the nursery. What zone is your garden? It is divine and such variety! Blessings, Meg

You have posted a nice variety of blossoms. Your old and new plants appear to be doing quite well. I like the frog in the second picture.

I can sympathize with rabbits in the tulips! They are still beaustiful! I am looking forward to my lilac blooming soon. You have such an interesting variety of flowers; I am going to see if any of them would like living in the high desert. Some of my favorite high desert flowers/bushes are still a month (or more - GASP!) a way from flowering, so I really enjoy viewing your lovely blooms!

Shame on the rabbits. The tulips are beautiful even if bitten. YOur gardens are coming along there. Glad you got some much needed rain.

I bet you are loving not working at the store.

Hi Jean,
My rabbits are feeding on coneflowers and pea plants so far, with a few nibbles on the lettuce. I see the coneflowers are trying to put out new leaves. I hope the rabbits move on to something else, like the alfalfa and clover there are a few clumps of. Oh, and the stand of campenula could stand to be thinned out by some munching.

You have a nice assortment of blooms. I love that barrenwort. I don't think I've seen it before. What a sweet plant! Your foamflower has way more blooms than mine gets. I think the spot it's in may be too dry.

I scheduled for my post to come up this morning, then forgot to link it in. Well, it is still Tuesday. Thanks for hosting this bloomin' day.
