I had seen a couple wreaths in blogland that were made with vintage bulbs. I especially liked the look of one that had greenery in between the bulbs plus it wouldn't take as many bulbs. I didn't have a wreath the right size to try but I did have a swag.I decided that it would be the perfect time to try it because my tree was still decorated and I could just use the extra bulbs. I just grabbed a cool temp glue gun and the bulbs. I'd lay a couple on each side and if I liked it I'd glue it in place.
I put some of every color that I had because I love color. Most of the one of a kind ones I put in the middle.

Jean, I love your swag with the Christmas balls. I'll have to remember this for next Christmas and start collecting at thrift shops throughout the year.
Jean that's a neat idea. I have a box in my basement full of old balls from my mother and father's house. Many were in use when I was growing up. I have a couple that I use every year but the rest are still packed away. You have given me a great idea as I already have a swag!
Fabulous idea! I love it. Thanks for sharing. Happy Show 'n Tell Friday!
Your swag is just beautiful! It gives me ideas of what to do with some of my grandmothers older, one of a kind ornaments. I had been displaying them in apothocary jars, but I like your swag better! Thanks for sharing!
Your house is SO pretty!!! I love your swag, and how cool to glue them on so you can really see the fronts of them!
Thanks for the idea! I have been wanting to make a wreath like this but I think the greenery in between will help me do it better.
Happy 2009!
It's beautiful! I need to keep that in mind for next year-I have the perfect place in mind.
Beautiful project.
Thanks for sharing.
Happy New Year from Northern Ireland.
Your swag is gorgeous. I also have to comment on your house in the snow. As much as I despise snow, I really think your home looks lovely in that photo. I was actually shocked that I had a positive reaction to a photo with snow!
How absolutely gorgeous your garland is!! Truly beautiful, and I think it's such a shame to take it down!! You are very talented - I imagine you will be able to come up with a wintery, non-Christmas-y replacement in the twinkle of an eye!
Happy New Year to you!

I think it looks great and I'll have to remember this for next year. I want to try and make one myself :0)
I love your header. Is that your home? It's fantastic and I had an instant feeling of "welcome/warmth" just by looking at it. There is love there...
Good job! You are so talented. You will be surprised and then running around trying to figure out where to place it next year!!
What a wonderful idea, Jean! Your swag is beautiful.
