This Stargazer Lily was just awesome this year. It was about 5 feet tall and had 6 huge blooms. I never realized how different they smell from other lilies. All I could come up with was eggnog with cinnamon or rice pudding. They just smell like "home". These next flowers are also lilies. We have always called them rain lilies because they will not bloom until it rains. I dug the bulbs up about 30 years ago in my Grandma and Grandpa's yard in Florida. I drag the wash tub into the basement for the winter every year. My Grandma even tried watering them with well water to get them to bloom but it didn't work.
I found out last year when I posted them that the real name is Zephryanthes (flower of the south wind) Grandiflora and there are different colors. They are also called fairie lilies.
Since they don't grow around here I'll probably never get a chance to get other colors. As long as it stays warm they will bloom after a good rain.

Jean, We must have both had "pink" on our minds this week. Your Stargazer Lily is just wondrous! What an amazing flower. The Zeph lilies are beautiful too. What a pretty, soft pink color.
The Stargazer & Rain Lillies are gorgeous Jean. I am going to have to give those Rain Lillies a try. That is so cool that they only bloom after a rain. Oh, I really like your new skin & header! How do you get all these different designs. Very pretty!
Hi Jean, all your pink lilies are just beautiful! That huge stargazer lily plant is just unbelievable! I also have some of those fairie lilies. The previous owner had planted them and to my surprise one day, they bloomed! I was quite happy!
Thanks for hosting another blooming tuesday.
Love, Ann
Beautiful flowers! I have Rain Lillies in white and a very pretty peach. Right now, they are all dried up, but we had rain tonight, so in the next few days, some stands may produce flowers. The ones I have are not as spectacular as yours--the flowers are a lot smaller and not as plentyful.

I just love the fairy lilies! So sweet and delicate! We have a bush called the "Texas Sage" in Arizona that seems to always bloom a week or so after a rain!
Your lilies look great Mom.
Happy Bloomin' Tuesday!!
Beautiful flowers and photos! I love the close ups! Happy Bloomin' Tuesday!
Jean,
I do get new ferns every year. I keep them until about ctober 15. My husband loads them in his pick-up and we donate them to the horticulture class at the Career & Technology Center.

I love your flowers and I love the photos. Unfortunately, plants do not like me as a care-giver very much. But I do enjoy plants, especially the flowering kinds.
