Introduction

I'd like to introduce you to my new garden critter. I haven't picked a name yet but have a few ideas like Chain Saw Turtle, Choppy, Chippy... Do you have any ideas?
I saw him/her at a craft show, where I was supposed to be looking for Christmas gifts, and couldn't resist especially since it was on sale.
He's about 18 inches long and I love the details.
The shed will be his winter home but in the spring he will be added to my shade garden.
Don't you like how his foot is lifted as if he was walking?

Fall Bloomers

Okay, it's time to get out your fall bloomers, or snuggies, as you may call them. Not! Did you really think I was going to show underwear?
I'm talking about the discoveries while out blowing leaves and mowing lawn (for the last time this year!)Primroses.
Dead nettle.
A rose.
Cranesbill geranium.
Bachelor Button.
Mums.

I also found these leaves circled into small holes in the ground.
Does anyone know what critter does this?

I'm wondering if it is ground bees.

Ghostly Project

Wanted to share a very easy craft that Jerzie and I did. All you need is a styrofoam ball (any size), a square of white material (I had muslin on hand so that's what we used), a piece of dowel (any size) and stickers, markers or paint. Stick the dowel into the ball.
Center the fabric over the ball to see where the face should go, remove, then put a face on the material. Jerzie choose to use some eye stickers and a marker.

Put the material back over the ball and secure. I used a white twist tie but you can also use pipe cleaners or ribbon.
There you have it. Two cute ghosts made with stuff around the house. You have the option of making them any size you want. Jerzie had some Halloween stickers so she put a spider and web on one ghost too.
This is the adult version I made several years ago. We used batting for the head and added a cross dowel, painted decorations and pompom spiders.

Sachet Balls

Several years ago a customer gave me a sachet ball. I would pick one up when I saw one. Now I have a bowl full, which was my goal. I'm not looking for a large collection but they are fun to look for and very inexpensive.

What do you see?

A woodland fairy house with a key hole doorway.
A chipmunk castle.
Sorry, I cut the head off these giraffes
Jerzie said, pancakes.
A swimming dog's head.

Natures Art

I'm not sure what draws me to moss in the fall, but something does. It might just be the bright splash of green in the brown woods. I'm not interested in learning about different types of moss, just in taking pictures of it.

Man Made Art

I have always been fascinated with wood construction. Being able to build something is an art in itself but making it beautiful in the process is amazing to me. I found 2 examples of this artwork while in Allegheny State Park.I have always loved this theater in the woods. I would love to experience an activity there but never have because we camp too late in the season.
It is just perfect tucked into the woods with a hill in front just like a man made stadium. A perfect wedding spot, don't you think?

All the years we've been going to the park we never knew there was a covered bridge on the opposite side of the huge park. We found out thru a fellow blogger and had to check it out this year.
I love the beautiful construction inside and out.Another example of fitting into the landscape perfectly.Even the stone braces are works of art.
Nothing beats a perfect day and beautiful art!
