Camo?

I have not done much outside fall decorating so far this year and the first picture will explain.

My house has looked like this for about 3 weeks. I was supposed to get it painted the first week of July. The painter actually started in August because of hospitalization. He worked for a couple days and went back in the hospital for a month. My neighbor took over and did more priming and scraping. When people asked, I told them we were going camo and needed to add several more colors! A week ago my neighbor quit. Painter number 3 started this week and it has rained all week! I sure hope that 'third time is really the charm'!

I did take out my water feature and pull the wagon up front. I added some mums and a couple gourds. Of course, I had to do my 'window box'.

I have decided, at least for now, not to have the window frame painted. I like the aged look and don't want it to look like the other windows.

Sounds like the rain will stop the first of the week so maybe at least the front of the house will get done!

A little more fall...

I went to the Dollar Tree the other day and found these great fall accents. Twenty glass acorns in 3 colors and 10 beautiful large silk maple leaves per package. The leaves have wires for veins so they can be formed to look more natural.

I added a couple leaves and acorns to this table display in my living room.

I put a couple leaves under this green glass bowl and added some acorns to the feather covered balls.

I stuck a few acorns in among the ivy on this shelf

and put some in this leaf/bird dish.

This is in my dining room, along with the mantle in my header. The leaves help add a little color.

I only bought 2 bags of acorns (they had flowers too) and one bag of burgundy leaves (they had other colors). Three bucks to add color and a little bling to my fall decor!

A Little Fall

Ghostly Project

Wanted to share a very easy craft that Jerzie and I did. All you need is a styrofoam ball (any size), a square of white material (I had muslin on hand so that's what we used), a piece of dowel (any size) and stickers, markers or paint. Stick the dowel into the ball.

Center the fabric over the ball to see where the face should go, remove, then put a face on the material. Jerzie choose to use some eye stickers and a marker.

Put the material back over the ball and secure. I used a white twist tie but you can also use pipe cleaners or ribbon.

There you have it. Two cute ghosts made with stuff around the house. You have the option of making them any size you want. Jerzie had some Halloween stickers so she put a spider and web on one ghost too.

This is the adult version I made several years ago. We used batting for the head and added a cross dowel, painted decorations and pompom spiders.

Pumpkins,...

I have a few more fall touches in my kitchen and bathroom. Just a little touch here and there makes a huge difference and is very inexpensive. The jar is a tart burner. An old bowl filled with prim pumpkins, apples and pairs. I loved this bowl and got it cheap because it has chips. Since I only use it for decor, I like the chips.A handed down wooden bowl sits on the counter. I just added leaves and pumpkin tarts.

This shelf is above my sink.

In my glass door cupboard, I just added a few pumpkins to the Fiestaware dishes.

More pumpkins in the bathroom.

You gotta have birds!

I just added a few leaves and a bird to this tissue box.

Pumpkins...

Since it is officially autumn, I decided to show you some of my decorations in my home. Today's are in the living and dining rooms. Most of my decorations are pumpkins. All shapes, sizes and textures of pumpkins.

The bird is in a sewing machine drawer. Remember you can click the picture to enlarge it.
I found this leaf and bird dish at TJMaxx this year.

My daughter and I got the wooden acorns at Tuesday Morning earlier this year on a clearance shelf.

I got this arrangement at a fall festival last year, it was cheaper than I could make it.A couple more pumpkins in the mantle area.

I love all these different textures, pine cones, leaves and metal.
More tomorrow.
