Mailbox

I had to move my flag from the side entrance to the front when I put up the window box. I decided I didn't like the mailbox I painted a few years ago anymore. (Laurie said I never did).I decided I would try to make it look more like the house number sign. I took it apart after the mail came and painted it with some crackle medium that is mixed with black paint.
Then covered that with ivory paint. That was a little bright so I varnished it with colored varnish that antiques and varnishes in one step.
I wrote mail on it and put stars like the one on the number sign. I polyurethaned it when I got out of work last night
and hung it this morning.

Right now I think I like it.. What do you think?

I don't just like it, I LOVE it!! I can't get over what you can do with paint, you are so talented! I thought it was cute when it was like a house but the way you have it now, it completely matches your home perfectly!! xox

It goes very well with the rest of your colors. Do you think the mailman was surprised? Surely the mail carrier knows each and every one of our mailboxes and notices such things!
