Show and Tell

It seems that this Christmas I'm thinking "inside" the box. No, not the presents, the decorating! This sewing machine drawer is on a table in my living room. I found the adorable figurine at a discount junk store for a dollar. Click on the picture to get a better look.

This is on my dining room table. You can see by the next picture, it is an old red metal box. I bought a box of boxes for a dollar at an auction and this was in it.

I washed it off but didn't scrub it because I like the old look. None of these arrangements are permanent. I like to change things so I may use them filled with something else later.

I found this 3 compartment wooden box in a barn at a sale. It didn't even have a price on it. I guess they figured no one would want it. I think it was a dollar also. This is on a table in my bathroom. How's your decorating going? Do you think 'inside' or outside the box?
Thanks for stopping by. To see more Show and Tell posts go over to Kelli's House.

Such a good idea to use simple, rustic looking items. They turned out very pretty.

Oh, I love your way of thinking 'inside the box.' I went to a thrift store the other day and saw a beautiful box, much like the one in your first photo, and I didn't buy it! Ugh! You've given me the inspiration to march right back to that store and make a purchase! Beautiful boxes...thanks for sharing!

I love them all .....especially the red tool box! I am embarrassed to say that very little decorating has been done here.

I am getting my Christmas cheer from lurking around blogland this morning....waiting for the wood stove to warm the great room up. It's a toasty 15 degrees this morning and the heat pump just isn't cutting it!

Happy Holidays!

I LOVE boxes too! And the red one - wow - you've really added just the right embelishments to get that vintage look. What a fun theme - I may have to "borrow" (ahem) that one for next year!
