I really love Mullein/verbascum. They like the sun and will grow 24 to 30 inches. I think they usually bloom a little later in the season but I'll cut them down when they are done and maybe get two shows out of them.
I showed a purple one here but these soft antique looking colors are my absolute favorite!
My foxglove/digitalis has never been more beautiful! Last year I had several plants but not many blooms (foxglove is biannual). Hopefully I eventually get enough plants that they will bloom every year. They are one reason I'm enlarging this bed. The soil is ready but I'm not touching anything until they are done blooming!
I just love the close up of the inside of them.
You can't really tell from the large picture but they range from the dark pink to pale pink and pale yellow. The unopened blooms on this one are pale yellow but the open blooms are pink.
I'm anxious to see what's blooming in your garden!

Your flowers are beautiful. I love Mullein/verbascum also. Thanks for sharing your lovely photos.
I think your foxglove garden bed is lovely. I just love how strong they stand, unlike other tall spiking plants, they need staking.
Hi Jean,
I love the soft rose color of foxglove as well. I don't have any quite that shade. Yours are lovely..
xo
beautiful flowers!
beautiful plants...those verbascum are a lovely colur. Happy GTS
I'm visiting other Green Thumb Sunday'ers and I have to second all the other comments, your flowers are beautiful. You take great pics too. And thanks for sharing your mullein pics. That's a new one to me and I'm definitely going to have to check it out.
I've got two foxglove plants...no blooms :(
it is encouraging to know they are biannual so maybe I'm in their off year...I bought them from my good Red Hat friend who is wanting to set up a blog and participate in the Green Thumb Sundays...I'm hoping to get her set up this next week before my trip!
:)
Absolutely beautiful! I'm jealous of your flowers, it's all giving me lots of ideas for next year!
Lovely flowers. I'm falling in love with foxglove. I've always heard of it but never "known" it until the last few weeks of GTS. Such a beautfiul bloom!
I never paid much attention to Mullein, but after seeing your pictures, I will have to see about adding some.
There is just something about foxglove that I love, especially when they are grouped all together.
lovely pics jean! my favorite angle for foxgloves is up their skirts as well. thank goodness flowers don't seem to mind. ;)
Hi Jean, Thanks for the visit, that verbascum is one of my favourites.
Cheers mark
Lovely! I want to grow some of the mullein/verbascum -I've seen a variety called 'caribeean crush' that is a pastel salmon/yellow type that looks good. Sun? dry? wet? any special tips for growing?
Your foxgloves are superb.

Your foxglove are beautiful. Mine are almost done. I started with one plant now I have hundreds. They re-seed like crazy. I gave dozens away this year.
Enjoy.
