Some little treasures.

I always seem to look at old linens when I go to a sale but I don't usually buy any. This card table cloth was an exception. I love the cup that was hand embroidered in each corner. I have it on my dining room table for now.I also found this dresser scarf that I have on my bookcase.
I loved this basket of flowers in the middle ....and the little sprays on the corners.
I couldn't resist these 2 floral prints.
I have them in the corner cupboard in the living room but they are a nice small size that can be used in several places.
There haven't been too many sales lately and I'm anxious for them to start again. I love going to household sales and finding little treasures!

It's Bloomin' Tuesday!

Welcome!
Today I have some little critter shots from my garden.

I couldn't resist adding these last 2 shots of Jerzie watching 'buggies'.

Hearts!

Can you guess what Gramma and I did today? Note to Gramma: Sweep the floor before playing with confetti so we don't end up with dirty confetti! We made valentines! I had so much fun with the confetti that's about all I used.
One for Mommy and Daddy and one for my friend Anne.
Love ya! Jerzie

Food for Thought

Cold and reserved natures should remember that,
though not infrequently flowers may be found beneath the snow,
it is chilly work to dig for them and few care to take the trouble.

Knifty Knitter

I've been having so much fun with my knitting looms! ( In case your interested they also sell them at Joann's and Warmart) I made this hat and scarf for myself. I love this yarn. It has beige, pinks, purples, and teals in it and will go with just about everything. Can you guess what I'm making next? By the looks of this I'll be making two!

If you guessed Mets hat you are right. My son said he needs one to go with the jacket I got him for Christmas.
If you don't knit or crochet give it a try. You'll love it!

Show and Tell

Today I'm showing you the last of my snowpeople. These are in my front entry.

The door to the living room.

I found these cute snowballs at a craft store. They are styrofoam balls with a glitter glued on them. Easy and cheap idea to fill bowls, baskets. etc. I'm planning on making some for next year.
A favorite I made several years ago.
I also made this cute winter birdhouse. My son-in-law built it and made the separate pieces using a Drummel tool.
Just hanging around.
Thanks for stopping by! For more Show and Tell posts go visit Kelli's House.

More birds!!!

Well, my obsession with birds is still going on! I had to go to a new orthopedic doctor today because since I fell in May and supposedly broke a little chip off my elbow, I can't straighten my arm. Come to find out, I fractured my elbow in 2 places but there is nothing that can be done except some stretching exercises because there is too big a chance of making it worse with surgery. I'd probably be better now if the doctor here had told me what to do.
Anyway, the Dr is near a TJMaxx so, of course I had to stop.
The large bird is to hold a key in the bottom but it was only 5 dollars and it just flew right into my cart.
I got this wonderful cement, chippy birdbath for $10. I love that it looks so old and worn. I couldn't resist.
There is a new Peebles store right next door and I got this sign for 40% off.
I love the little bird sitting on top and the saying is perfect for my home.
Scoring these great items made going to the doctor well worth the trip!

It's Bloomin' Tuesday!

Welcome! All the spring plants are in our grocery store now. I can walk past the miniature daffodils, the crocus and the hyacinth but not the primroses, especially when they are different than what I have.
I spotted these yellow and orange ones right away. They are just called Primula but they do seem to have more petals than most of my primroses.
This color is just lovely. They really look like little roses.

I had to have this amazing orange with the yellow centers. I prefer this type of primrose where the flowers are almost hidden among the leaves. I can't wait to plant these two in my garden. Who knows, I may have a few more to plant by the time all this snow melts!
If you would like to join Bloomin' Tuesday and show us what blooms where you are planted, just add your name and permalink to Mr Linky. Please remember to add a link to this post. Enjoy today's garden walk.

Snickerdoodle!

Jerzie and I have had a fun day today. First thing this morning I put some spaghetti sauce on to cook and then we made some cookies. Jerzie couldn't wait until I was done with the beaters.Yummy!
She was helping me by rolling the balls in the cinnamon and then...
I realized that she was pinching a bunch off of every ball...
and eating it!

This afternoon we went outside to play in the snow.
It's in the 30's and sunny so it was a perfect day.
We built a snow castle
and tried to slide down the snow piles but the snow was too deep. Now we're just waiting for Mommy and Daddy to come to dinner.

Snowy Sunday

Sounds like this will be our last Snowy Sunday due to lack of interest. I didn't know that when I picked pictures for this post. I usually look for the beauty in the snow and some of you may still see the beauty in these pics but all I see is a "whole lot of shovelin' goin' on!"

Laurie and I found these cute sparkly snow signs real cheep. I hung mine on the wreath I had on the door for Christmas. Some around here might report me for having a swear word on my house!

I did not add anything to these pictures. It was early morning light, while I was out shoveling, that gives them the blue cast. This is the walk way to the beauty shop. As you can see the snow is as high as the handrail. I now have to throw it all over the rail.

This is the other side. I assume that under all that snow my primroses are making their buds.

This is the path that leads to the stairs.

Where the walks all come together. My front door to the right and the front walk to the left. Way to the right is the sled I have leaning on the house. It's almost buried in the snow.

This is the pile on the end of my driveway. Yes, that is a yardstick, not a ruler! And yes, I have shoveled all that snow! I do have a small snow blower that I use when it's real deep and heavy or when the plow goes through and plows in the end of the driveway. I can't use it on the walkway to the shop so I usually just keep shoveling. I don't use it when I get home from work and the plow has gone thru either because it's too late at night to make all that noise. When I do shovel I have to carry the snow to a different area because the piles are so high. It's a good thing we had a good thaw half way thru and got rid of most of that snow. I'm really not doing this post to complain but to show you just how much snow we have here in western NY this year. Our side streets are all very narrow because there is no place to put all the snow. They remove the snow on some of the main streets and throw it into the river.

YEA!! I shoveled 4 to 6 inches yesterday morning and it didn't snow much yesterday so I don't have to shovel today!!! Makes up for the days I have to shovel 3 times. We are in the 30's today some we might have a small melt down.

For more Snowy Sunday posts snow shoe over to Chris and Laurie's.
