It's Bloomin' Tuesday!

Today it's all about lilies. I have never had so many blooms and buds in my lily bed. I need to spread things out some but I love the full look, even when they lilies aren't blooming.I had one Easter lily bloom. I have planted several over the years but I'm happy to see and smell one.

I only have 5 different lilies and I don't know their names. I'm not looking to collect them, just enjoy them.

I love the bright yellow throat of this burgundy one.

You all know I'd have some peachy ones, didn't you?

This yellow is a very soft color.

I think the colors of this one are interesting.
They sure look different colors on different days. These yellows are quite vibrant.

Now I have a question for you. I was asked several times during the tour what this bushy plant is. I've had it far a long time and have no idea what it's name is. It looks like a bush but it dies down completely over the winter.
As you can see the leaves are interesting and the stems are red. It does get tiny white flowers. None of the Master Gardeners we asked had any idea. Do you?
Thanks for stopping by for Bloomin' Tuesday! To join the tour just add your name, STATE and permalink to Mr Linky below. I'm excited to see what you all have bloomin'. I know you will enjoy the tour!

Hi Jean - Your lilies are beautiful! The yellow, almost green lilies, are very striking and unusual. I don't know what your mystery shrub is - wish I did because it's pretty even without flowers. Thanks for hosting Bloomin Tuesday - I look forward to it every week :)

Hi Jean, your Lillies are lovely. I really think the one that changes color is 'Colorful Summer', I have it in my garden and it's a keeper. Sorry I couldn't help you with your mystery shrub, hope someone is able to id it for you. :)

Lovely lilies, Jean. I especially like the greenish yellow one. My day lilies are just starting. I almost hate to see them because it means the majority of my flowers are done for the year!
What a sad thought for both of us.

Hi Jean,
I love all your daylilies, and the Easter one, too. I'm thinking my favorite is the one you said had interesting colors.

I saw no one yet knew what your plant is. I was curious and did a search on plants with reddish leaves. I am putting a link here that shows a similar plant. The colors are a bit different, but I wonder if they are related. Oh, shoot, I was not able to paste it in. It was in iGarden Club, which I've never heard of. The plant I saw was called Persicaria Microcephala, 'Red Dragon'. Oh, I just did a search of persicaria, and saw that it's related to painter's pallete. That's funny, because I was thinking your plant reminded me of mine, but knew it wasn't that. (I'm sorry if I'm a bit rambly, I just got up and an not fully awake.) Have a great day!

Hello! Thanks for sharing all of your day lilies! I have two different kinds in my garden, but I have no idea what they are!

You'll also notice I created a new garden blog. It's http://bholdingthebeauty.blogspot.com. For this week I linked up to my old blog (which has a post directing to the new one).

I figured I was posting so much garden stuff I should have a whole blog dedicated to it!

Happy Gardening!

Wow, you have such a lovely variety of lilies! I'm not a huge fan of them, but I think that may be because most of the ones I see are the wild orange ones, I'd love to have some of the variety you have!

I must remember to update my blog with a garden post so I can join your next tour!

I hopped over from Zoey's blog and love finding daylily photos! You have lovely ones! I have quite a few and posted some shots in the last week or so. I was going to do a search for your shrub, but I think Sue pinpointed it-some kind of Persicaria Microcephala-good work!
