Quick Change!

Some of you may remember when I repainted my mail box to match the country numbers I had on my house awhile ago.Well, I decided I wanted to be less country so I changed again! I sanded the mailbox and primed it with a slate color.
Layered a few browns, bronzes and gold...
and added a wood piece painted the bronze and gold then 'stained' with the brown.

I found this rusty welcome sign and dry brushed some bronze and gold on it.
I got inexpensive gold house numbers, which I'll like better when they age a little. The front of my house looks quite different for under 10 bucks. What do you thing?

Your front entrance looks great! I can understand why you will like the numbers better when they age a little. The numbers looks shiny and new, whereas the mailbox and welcome sign look older.

I think it looks great, but didn't you just have carpal tunnel surgery? How did you do all that sanding?

Beautiful. Don't you love projects like that -- ones that don't take too much time and make such a difference!

How pretty! I wish we had mailboxes by our doors here. Instead, there is one mailbox for the street and everyone has a key for their box in it. How fun to have a personaized box--and how nice to have it by your door!
