Dawn asked last week if we had any back to school stories to tell. My story isn't the first day of school but it's picture day in kindergarten. Just before pictures our experienced teacher took us all to the bathroom. Way back then we used a large bathroom on the floor our class was on. I don't remember why ( probably just being polite lol!) but I was a little slow coming out. I opened the door and I was all alone in that huge hall. I didn't know my way around the big school but I did know my way home! I grew up in a very small town and we only lived a block away from the school so I ran home crying. My Mom marched me right back to school and I got my picture taken. As you can see by the picture, I'm trying hard to smile. I ran across this picture of our church choir when I was looking for the first one. I was probably about the same age. I'm easy to find, just look for my trademark braids. I had them thru 6th grade!

When I first saw that picture I thought it was one of Jerzie that you had converted into a black and white picture!! Gosh, she looks like you as a little girl!! I so enjoyed reading this story...it made me smile picturing you with those pigtails running home because you were lost in the school! lol How wonderful that you have those pictures! The only school pictures I have of me are the ones taken when I was in High School...I asked my mom how come there are none of me when I was younger and yet the boys have their school and class pictures from when they were young and she didn't know why! Sheesh! I feel so deprived! lol xoxo
