Show and Tell

Today I'm going to show you my Sarah's Attic collection. I keep them all in this small corner curio cabinet. I started collecting these several years ago. I haven't added to my collection in quite awhile. Every now and then I'll look on e-bay and see one I have to have. The company doesn't make these kids anymore.
Mine are from several individual collections but I don't buy them because of what collection they are from but because I like them or they have a special meaning to me. For an example, the angel at the campfire reminds me of the friends camp my kids and I spent our time at. The little angel on the left in pink pants is named Emmy Lou and that was my Mom's name. Mom had brown hair and hated shoes. If you look close you can see that this angel is barefoot.
I love the faces and the way the kids are dressed. The 2 preachers in the back are dressed in their Dad's clothes. The detail is amazing. Each figurine has a tiny heart somewhere on it and each child has a name. I have shown some of these pieces separately in other posts. If you would like to see closeups just click here and here.My granddaughter has been fascinated with these since the first time she noticed them. I have already told the family that they are hers when I am gone.
These angels are larger than the other figurines. I got all 3 on e-bay. You can find Sarah's Attic figurines on e-bay from 5 dollars and up but when purchased new they went from 30 to 60 dollars. I don't really plan on enlarging my collection but I do enjoy the ones I have.

If you are interested in signing up for Show and Tell or seeing a list of everyone involved go to Kelli's House.

Those are really cute! Just when I don't thinnk I'll add another thing to my collections-Tada! Something shows up and I can actually here it calling to me.

"Buy me, take me home, I want to live at your house".

What can I say? Sometimes the voices in my head are real and they win! Ha ha!

I enjoyed seeing your extensive collection of Sarah's Attic figurines.
Some time ago I tried to win the Sarah's Attic Nativity set, but was outbid. I did get Miss Martha's All God's Children nativity, which has similar child figures in it. (I collect nativity sets)

These little figurines are absolutely darling. I'm glad your comment on my blog led me back to yours. The pictures of your grandchildren on the sidebar are so neat or as the younger people would say, "Cool".
Have a great weekend.

What a "big" collection, it looks
terrific in your cabinet! I think
it is cool how you relate the
figurines you like to real events
and people.
