Green Thumb Sunday

Today for Green Thumb Sunday I'm showing you my Rose of Sharon. I have three different ones and they are all blooming now. Each bloom only lasts a day or two but new ones open every day so they bloom for quite awhile.

I think this one is my favorite because it is so striking with the red center.
The branches of the Rose of Sharon grow up. If we have late or too early snow the branches spread out and have to be tied up to keep the right shape.
This is a double one and is my largest bush. It is probably 7 to 8 feet tall .
Click here to see my daughters, which is different from mine.
Have a great Sunday!

I love the white one. My neighbor has one and I keep meaning to ask her for some seeds.

I love all your flowers, but your Rose of Sharon is gorgeous. Mine here in CA has purple flowers with pink centers. (it's done blooming now)

I love Rose of Sharon, only mine aren't blooming yet. I think I'll move them so that I have more of a chance of earlier bloom next year. They are in a slightly less than full on 14 hour sun spot.

I had never heard of Rose of Sharon until I saw some bloggers post pictures of them...I'm wondering if they're even available here. They sure are beautiful flowers!!! xox

I like the white and the white with rose center, we have the last, purple-y red one, too. Do you have any of the larger bloomed ones, Disco belles? I am trying them for the first time this year. So far, great foliage, no blooms.

These are beautiful. I'm definitely adding one of these plants to my garden next year!

Your Rose of Sharons are beautiful.

I really like the white one.

The one with the red in the center looks a lot like it's cousin the hibiscus.
