These are pictures I took early one morning after a heavy dew. I had no idea there were so many spiders in my garden! I probably wouldn't have even noticed these webs had it not been so damp out.

If you look closely near the exposed leaves you can see the spider in a hole. I am not fond of spiders but we must appreciate the beauty they create. Although these are not your ordinary designed webs, they are still beautiful and fascinating.

My parents were married on September 27, 1941. My Moms dress was actually blue velvet. I remember playing dress up with it as a child . Of course, it was destroyed. I would love to have it now!
My father and brother contacted polio in 1953. My brother was in the hospital about a year and wears a leg brace and uses crutches. He was 6 at the time and is now 59. My dad was completely paralyzed and spent some time in an iron lung. He passed away on September 27, 1953, their 13th wedding anniversary. I was 4 so I don't remember much about my father at all, so these photos are very dear to me.
I'm ready for fall! Now nature has to do its job. In another week or so the burning bush on the far left will be a gorgeous red all over instead of just on top and all the huge maples on the street will be bright yellow. Some years they are so bright it looks like the sun is shinning even on a dark day.
This door is on the side of the house but still faces the street. The bench is sitting on the area where the coffee pot fountain in my banner is in the summer.
My daughter and I made our first trip to the apple farm today. It's early yet so they only had a few kinds. They make the BEST cider! We don't need to make applesauce this year but we will definitely make at least one more trip. I can almost taste an apple pie!
This is a wooden plate that I painted several years ago. I've used it several times on an easel as a table decoration.
There were no windows in this entry when I bought this house over 20 years ago. I decided I would like a little more light so began looking for windows.My first thought was stained glass but I found these leaded glass windows at an antique mart just down the road and had to have them. They "fit" the house perfectly and you wouldn't know they were added. I just love them and an added bonus is they give me more space to put my "stuff" on!
Looks like we're going to have a dreary wet weekend. I've decided my project will be to change my entry decor from patriotic, which I have in spring and summer, to fall. The fall oranges and yellows should brighten up my spirits on this gray weekend. I also get to watch J.Shea while her Mom and Dad go the Buffalo airport tonight, so that will certainly put a smile on my face. I'll post the fall pictures when I get done. Have a cozy,dry weekend!
Doesn't this look relaxing? Summer is gone and I think I sat here once. I'm sorry to say that was when I repaired the cord to my hedge trimmers (after cutting it again!) while I was trimming the hedge. I do look foreward to fall tho. Who knows, maybe I can sit again to rest while blowing leaves!
One of my customers gave me these bulbs several years ago. She said they are fall crocus. There are leaves that come up in the spring. They die off in summer and then one day I look and there are flowers. As you can see they are larger than crocus and I only have one color. I've never seen them anywhere so I don't know if they come in different colors or not. I look forward to seeing them every year.
