One of my favorite flowers this time of year is the Japanese Anemone (bottom pic). I love the tall graceful stems and the way they dance in the fall breeze. I'm sure that's why they are also called windflowers. I bought a new anemone, called Annabella,(top pic), this year. It is supposed to bloom in spring but is blooming now. It is very pretty but I think the Japanese, with its dogwood like flowers, is still my favorite. I shared some with a friend and he can never remember the name so he calls it a Japanese Enema!
