What's that noise?

I was sitting quietly drinking a cup of coffee this morning when I heard it. An unfamiliar sound. It kept getting louder and louder and almost sounded like I was at a football game full of cheering fans. Then it hit me! The first sound I heard was rain! Not just humidity in the air but real soaking rain. I realized it wasn't really raining that hard to make such a loud noise. I listened a few more minutes and discovered what it was.
The grass,
the trees,
the flowers,
and even the birds were cheering!

We are finally getting a whole day of rain!

That was a wonderful story! I know exactly what you mean, though. We are just having a shower but my garden would yell for joy if we got a whole day of rain :-) I am afraid I will be losing somethings plants and bushes this year. :-(

Jean I could hear the plants cheering here too.. Rain is forecast but only had a small amount so far. Who would have thought that it would be so dry after all the snow and rain earlier in the year..

Cool! I thought you were going to say the other noise was hail. I'm glad it wasn't. I love the photo of the birds.

I hope we get some rain tonight. We have just been getting a tiny bit here and there.

Yeah, know what you mean. We've been getting a bit more here...but still no where near enough. Let it rain, let rain, let it rain.
