It's Bloomin' Tuesday!

Welcome! Today I'm going to show you my very favorite fall flower. I'm sure those of you that know me wondered when I would get to this bloomer.

I absolutely love autumn blooming Anemone!

This picture shows one of the reasons I love it so. Besides the bloom being beautiful, the buds and seed heads are interesting and almost graceful looking. The yellowish pod will eventually pop open and a cotton like seeds will pop out.

Another reason is they will grow in any sun/shade situation. This one is in about equal sun and shade. The plants really make a statement in the garden. You can see why they are also called windflowers. The tall stems sway in the slighest breeze.

This was my very first one and my favorite. I love the simplicity of the bloom and the soft pink color.

The large plants are made up of several small plants so they are easy to divide. If there is a downside to this flower it is how fast they spread. It's not hard to keep them under control by digging out the volunteers that you don't want. Someone is always willing to take the babies home! This plant is in full sun and there are several of both types popping up in my shade garden.

The single blooms also come in white. I bought a light pink double this year but I don't think it's going to bloom until next year.

This is a single white and pink next to each other in my middle garden. I will be moving one of them soon.

It's hard to see in this pic but the plants are on the right side in the back. I'm always looking for new windflowers and will never pass one up. As you can see they are a great addition to any garden.

Your flowers are still beautiful. Our leaves are starting to turn, however, today's temp was 93 degrees!

Now there's a flower I haven't tried yet. I will have to see if it is hardy here in upstate NY. It's so pretty I can see why you love it so much. I wish I was closer so I could be first in line for some of those volunteers.;)

Hi Jean ~ wow! I love the anemone! Everything still looks so healthy! The summer wasn't kind to my flowers here in VA. I enjoyed your post this week.

Hello Jean, the anemone is gorgeous and I think it is wonderful so many 'volunteers' appear from the parent plant. I will definitely be planting this flower next year!

I am very intrigued by your anemone. I wonder if it would grow in Central Florida. It's lovely!
