It's Bloomin' Tuesday!

Welcome!Today I'm afraid I'm not showing you any blooms but destruction. We have been having way too much rain too fast. If you'd like to see what my backyard looked like Sunday afternoon click here.
This is the oak leaf hydrangea Laurie and Chris gave me for my birthday. The water poured down this side hill like a river.

These pictures were all taken Sunday evening when most of the water had gone down.

Jerzie's pumpkin patch.

The rest were taken in my new shade garden.

This is the only empty spot but I can't remember what was planted here.

My mulch path is in a pile in the neighbors back yard. I just asked Chris to pick up a load of rough mulch for this area. I'm so glad I didn't already have it.

Luckily I had some dirt from other projects so I tried to fix the worst plants. In the process my plastic clog got buried in the mud! I had mud to my ankles. If the rain would just stop I think I'll be able to save most everything but it rained last night and today. This evening the city is on my street putting sandbags at driveways.
On the upside, I had very little water in the basement and didn't get any damage to my house. Several neighbors had to have their basements pumped out and my neighbor had a lot of damage to stuff stored in their garage
If you'd like to join our garden tour just add your name and permalink to Mr Linky and please post this address on your blog. Now I need to see some sun and blooms!

I'm so sorry about your plants. It makes me feel just sick inside to look at the pictures and see what once was. I can't belive the strange weather- we haven't had our normal rain and it is flooding in other states. Hope it stops for you soon and heads here.

Jean, I am so sorry to see what has transpired in your garden! How sad! The pictures of the yard with all the water in it were frightening. I'm so glad you didn't have much water in your basement. Poor plants! I hope they will survive. Keep us posted! ~~Rhonda
