What a deal!

First I'd like to thank you for your "helpful" ideas on how to get at my grapes! I think I'll just leave them for the birds.
I crossed another job off my fall list. I washed the front windows and storms and put them up. I still need to do the back but I open those windows so I'll wait until it gets colder.
I went to a couple sales last week and got some good buys. I love old tree ornaments and these were a deal
I also got this old drawer. I'm not sure why but I seem drawn to them lately. This tiny wheelbarrow caught my eye. It was made in occupied Japan. The box is a set of coasters.
There is a different flower on each one.
The best buy of the day had to be this chair.
The fabric is in sad shape but I love the wood in the arms and the shape of it.It was worth the price to experiment with recovering it. $5.00 and it was the second day so it was 30% off! I'm sure I can't replace the look of the back but I'll figure something out. If I can't do it I'm sure not out much.
Would you have been able to pass up this deal?

The chair is nice for $5. My mother used to recover all our furniture. She would take it apart and use the old fabric as a pattern. Take picture of how you took it apart so you know how to redo it.

What great buys! I love the old Christmas ornaments. Since I'm not confident enough to try recovering a chair, I don't think I would have picked it up. However, it's a great chair, and it will be very pretty when it's recovered. Let us know how it goes.

Hi,
You could line the drawer and hang it on the wall to use as a shelf to display a favorite thing. I used to collect old rag dolls and hung small drawers on the wall with a doll sitting in them.
They are nice used as a little planter garden.... Herbs for the kitchen.
I love to visit your blog. I especially like your "header"

I really like the shape of your chair. I've never tried upholstery but at that price, you can't go wrong!

You certainly did do well at those sales! I'm always on the lookout for old Christmas ornaments but they're very hard to find around here...love the ones you got! Wow, that chair for $5 was a fantastic deal. It would be worth a try to recover it yourself!! xoxo

What a steal! Honestly, love the shape of the chair and the wood looks like it is in pristine shape! I would never have passed up that deal! I have no clue how to reupholster furniture, but you could even have it done professionally and it would still be a great deal! (Although I would try to do it myself, because I love learning new things.)
