Something new

I didn't used to like poinsettia but I really don't know why.I guess I thought they were always kind of spindly and sparse.A few years ago I decided they are really beautiful. The color is so vibrant, especially in red!

I bought these at the grocery store where I work.

I couldn't believe it when I first saw them and this is why!

Aren't they just the cutest? The ways to use them are endless! They would be perfect as a gift for someone in a small apartment, hospital or nursing home. I wouldn't mind getting one as a favor for a holiday party and they would be perfect as a centerpiece. They even came in white and pink and were only $2.99 each. What a beautiful bit of cheer for a couple bucks! I have never seen them before, have you?

Hi Jean!
I adore poinsettia's! I have kept plants all year round in the house. They just need a very sunny window. Yours are cute as can be!
Loved all your pic's! It has been mild this year, hasn't it? Really enjoyed the sunshine for the Thanksgiving Holiday. Hope yours was great!

I haven't seen the tiny ones yet. Too cute, and as you say perfect for a shut in or small space.
I'm going to look for these!

It's funny that you should post about these little poinsettias because last week when I went to our grocery store, they had them for sale! I had never seen small ones like that and I also thought they were perfect for people with limited space. They are expecting another shipment of them on Saturday so I want to go buy one:-)

I was just thinking the other day about how I didn't like poinsettias as a younger person, but now appreciate them very much. I like the little ones for tucking here and there amongst other things.
I've visted Hawaii a few times in November and early December and the poinsettias grow outside there...great big bushes of them!
